Jane Savoie Training Seminar
"Harness the Power of Self-Talk"
The seminar starts with a lecture on "Harnessing the Power of Self-Talk".  Jane will explain how to avoid getting hung up on inner voice an use self-talk to achieve not only your riding goals, but also your scholastic and life goals.  The lecture will be  followed up with 4 Mounted Demonstration Rides (4 riders each, grouped by their established working levels and/or discipline) arranged to exhibit the techniques and concepts discussed in the morning lecture.

One-Day Forum to Discuss Issues Associated with Synthetic Racing Surfaces.
As part of an ongoing analysis into the feasibility of installing synthetic surfaces at race tracks located in New York State, The New York State Task Force on Retired Racehorse (Task Force) has invited segments of the racing industry to a one-day forum to discuss the issues associated with synthetic racing surfaces.  Five moderated panels compromised of jockeys, trainers, track officials, veterinarians, and other industry analysts will be on hand to provide insight and answer questions from Task Force members. Wagon Train and Stagecoach Run
"Tour the Enchanted Mountains of Cattaraugus County like a pioneer!"
The 2008 Bicentennial 14 day, 180 mile Stagecoach Run will be an educational living history celebration. The proposed route will include as many towns, villages and hamlets as possible in Cattaraugus County, to involve everyone in the communities as part of the adventure. The Stagecoach Run will travel about 3 miles an hour, stopping for a midday meal and camp at day's end. An educational presentation about wagons, horses and people of our heritage will be given each evening. A youth contest for children 18 years and younger will allow a lucky few children a chance to get a real feel for life as it was 200 years ago. Join the train for the entire 2 week ride, for a day or two or for an evening around the campfire when they set up at various locations around the county.
