Wagon Train and Stagecoach Run
"Tour the Enchanted Mountains of Cattaraugus County like a pioneer!"
The 2008 Bicentennial 14 day, 180 mile
Stagecoach Run will be an educational living history celebration. The proposed
route will include as many towns, villages and hamlets as possible in
Cattaraugus County, to involve everyone in the communities as part of the
adventure. The Stagecoach Run will travel about 3 miles an hour, stopping for a
midday meal and camp at day's end. An educational presentation about wagons,
horses and people of our heritage will be given each evening. A youth contest
for children 18 years and younger will allow a lucky few children a chance to
get a real feel for life as it was 200 years ago. Join the train for the entire
2 week ride, for a day or two or for an evening around the campfire when they
set up at various locations around the county.
Location: Throughout
Cattaraugus County
