Meredith, a Certified Equine Dentistry Technician, is the owner and operator of Equidentistry in Virginia. She routinely provides dental care for horses in Virginia, West Virginia and Maryland. She works exclusively with veterinarians to ensure your horse is provided with the best care possible. Most horses are sedated so that dental procedures can be done thoroughly and correctly. Sedation is ALWAYS done by the veterinarian. Meredith is a graduate of the American School of Equine Dentistry, as well as a Certified member of the International Association of Equine Dentistry. She is also licensed by the Virginia State Veterinary Board to practice as an Equine Dental Technician. Meredith is not a veterinarian. (Note: Laws regarding equine dentistry vary from state to state.) If you are interested in having Meredith work on your horse you must have your veterinarian at the appointment. Meredith’s fee ranges between $105 and $150 depending on the amount of work performed. Be part of history Sept. 4 when the TRF holds its first annual 'Run for the Horses,' a 5k race/walk starting outside celebrated Saratoga Race Course and winding its way down Union Avenue and the picturesque streets of Saratoga Springs. The proceeds of this event will benefit the TRF, the oldest and largest horse rescue and sanctuary for retired thoroughbreds in North America. Post time for 'Run for the Horses' will 8:30 a.m., with the starting gate at the Fasig Tipton Sales Pavilion on East Avenue and Union Avenue, just yards from the front gates of Saratoga Race Course. Pre-registration is $20. Race day registration $25. There will be entertainment, refreshments, prizes and fun. So show your support and 'Run for the Horses.' Remember, post time is 8:30 a.m. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Trail Trial Fundraiser Benefits “Happiness House” Gentle Dove Farm and Canandaigua Equestrian Center proudly announce our Happiness House TRAIL TRIAL! Put your trail experience to work in this low-key competition! Sunday, September 26, 2010 held at 5275 Parrish St. Extension, Canandaigua, NY 14424. Proceeds will benefit “Happiness House,” which offers programs and services for children and adults with disabilities. A Trail Trial consists of an un-timed ride with 6-10 judged obstacles that appear along a trail of several miles. There is a judge at each obstacle that compares the way the horse and rider meet the obstacle with a standard. Riders are judged on their skills and abilities to guide their horses through the obstacle course. There are no time requirements and the participant is only judged while negotiating obstacles, with the pace of the trail ride at the choice of the rider. Come join us with your horse, get lots of pledges for a great cause, and enjoy trails through fields, up hills, and through woods, while negotiating fun Trail Trial obstacles! A $50 pre-registration entry is required by September 19th with pledges due the day of the event. Sign up early as the “Happiness House” Trail Trial will be limited to the first hundred entries!
